How can we help?

Getting started

  1. Connect Cuadra to Keynote

Open Cuadra. The welcome tour walks you through it; choose Allow when macOS asks.

Tour didn’t show? Click the Cuadra icon in the menu bar and choose Help, then Welcome to Cuadra. Or open Cuadra’s Settings, click Privacy, and press Connect beside Keynote.

  2. Check that it’s working

Open a Keynote document. The Cuadra panel slides in beside it.

  3. Try it out

Select two objects on a slide and press Swap.

Tip: Press ⌥⌘K anytime to show or hide the panel.

Troubleshooting

macOS didn’t ask to let Cuadra work with Keynote, or I chose Don’t Allow.

Cuadra needs your permission to work with Keynote. Open System Settings, click Privacy & Security, then Automation. Find Cuadra, turn on Keynote, then quit and reopen Cuadra.

Buttons are grayed out.

Each button needs the right selection: Swap needs two objects, Distribute three or more. The text at the bottom of the panel tells you what’s missing.

An object didn’t move.

Locked objects and lines can’t be moved. Unlock the object in Keynote first. A group moves as one object.

The panel doesn’t appear.

Cuadra’s panel appears when Keynote is in front, unless you’ve pinned it. Press ⌥⌘K or click the menu bar icon to show it. To change when it appears, open Cuadra’s Settings and click Behavior.

The pasted template isn’t where I expected.

Press Copy, then ⌘V with the slide you want showing in Keynote. Cuadra moves the paste into place on that slide.

Mask and Save as template can’t read what I copied.

macOS asks once before Cuadra reads what you copied in Keynote, for Mask and Save as template. If you chose not to allow it, turn it back on in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Paste from Other Apps, then reopen Cuadra.

⌘Z doesn’t undo a whole swap.

Keynote records each object’s move on its own, so a swap takes two presses of ⌘Z. Revert, at the bottom of the panel, takes back the whole change in one click.

Keynote updated and something stopped working.

Update Cuadra from the Mac App Store. If it still doesn’t work, send us a bug report.

Questions

What data does Cuadra collect?

Anonymous counts: which features get used, and once a day whether the app is in its trial or subscribed. Turn them off in Cuadra’s Settings, under Privacy. Your slides stay on your Mac. Check our privacy policy for more details.

Does Cuadra work with PowerPoint or Google Slides?

No, Cuadra only works with Keynote on Mac.

Is Cuadra a plugin for Keynote?

No. Cuadra is a Mac app that works beside Keynote. Its panel slides in next to your Keynote window and arranges the objects on the slide you have open.

What templates are included?

50+ slide templates in eight groups: Layouts, Cards, Structure, Data, Sequences, Agenda, People and Pictures. They include roadmaps, timelines, Gantt, SWOT, pyramids and funnels, in your deck’s own fonts. Save your own in My Templates.
