Privacy Policy
Your slides never leave your Mac. Cuadra reads the positions, sizes and text of the objects in the Keynote document you have open, on your Mac, to arrange them and to fit templates to your slide. None of it is sent anywhere. When you save a slide as a template, Cuadra keeps the copy Keynote made of those objects, and a small picture of them for the tile, on your Mac until you delete the template.
Cuadra collects anonymous usage statistics: which features are used and how often each day, and whether a template paste worked; whether the welcome tour was finished and the subscription offer shown; and, once a day, whether the app is in its free trial, subscribed, or neither. With them go the app version and build number, the macOS version and your preferred language, tied to a random installation identifier that is not linked to you. No document content, no name, no email, no Apple Account. The statistics go to TelemetryDeck, hosted in the EU, which receives the connection's IP address to deliver them and states that it does not store it. The statistics are on by default. Turn them off in Cuadra's Settings, under Privacy, and nothing is collected.
What the app stores on your Mac
Cuadra saves a small amount of data locally, in the standard macOS location for the app:
- Panel position and which sections you have collapsed
- Your keyboard shortcut and panel behavior settings
- Whether you have completed the welcome screens
- Which version last asked you for an App Store rating, and how many actions and days you’ve used Cuadra since (Mac App Store version only)
- The day's counts and the random installation identifier described above, until they are sent, or for at most seven days if they cannot be sent
This stays on your Mac. Deleting Cuadra removes the app; its settings, your saved templates and the anonymous usage counter stay in its container until you remove that folder (the Library/Containers/app.cuadra.mac folder in your home folder) or reset the Mac.
Turning off “Share anonymous usage statistics” in Cuadra’s Settings, under Privacy, deletes the day’s counts and the installation identifier immediately, not at the next send, and stops the statistics service from sending anything further under that identifier.
On Apple’s App Privacy form this identifier is declared as Device ID (under Identifiers), alongside Product Interaction (under Usage Data), and the daily subscription status (trial, subscribed or neither) as Purchase History (under Purchases). None of them is linked to your identity and none is used for tracking. The identifier is a random value created the first time the app runs, not derived from your Mac’s hardware or from any account.
Your Keynote documents
Cuadra works by asking Keynote, through the automation built into macOS, about the objects in the document you have open: their position, size, rotation, opacity and locked state, the volume of videos when you use Mute All Videos in Deck, and, for Slide Templates, the fonts, colors and placeholder layout of the slide you are on.
- This happens entirely on your Mac, between two applications.
- Cuadra uses the clipboard only when you press a button: it puts shapes and templates there when you press Copy, and reads what you copied in Keynote when you save a template or use Mask; macOS may ask once before it does. Cuadra checks whether the clipboard holds an image, never the image itself, so it can show when Mask is ready.
- No document content of any kind is included in the usage statistics: no document name, no slide text, no image, no file path, no Keynote document identifier.
- Cuadra never uploads or sends your documents, or any part of them. The only part it keeps is a slide you save as a template, and that stays on your Mac.
- macOS asks your permission before the app can communicate with Keynote at all, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Automation.

If you subscribe through the Mac App Store, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple provides us with anonymized sales and subscription reporting; it does not identify you.
